Introduction to Cation Exchange Water Softening

This self-paced course provides a thorough introduction to ion exchange and water softening systems, including how they function and how to calculate system capacity. Topics include softener components, regeneration processes (co-current vs. counter-current), system types, and efficiency factors such as salt usage and resin selection. Learners will also explore pretreatment options, installation challenges, and septic system impacts. The course includes the recordings of two hour-long instructor-led sessions and three interactive eLearning activities designed to reinforce key concepts and support practical application.
